Charmes Chambertin VV, Domaine Bachelet 2013

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .44 ha parcel of 90+ year old vines situated directly across from Chambertin; the yields are so low and the vines so exposed that Bachelet says that he always harvests this parcel first**
Mild reduction pushes to the background what appears to be very ripe fruit that is trimmed in enough wood to comment on. The markedly vibrant and extremely rich flavors possess an opulent mouth feel on the concentrated yet refined finish that delivers positively huge length. Despite being firmly structured it is less imposing than some vintages and should actually be enjoyable after only 6 years or so of bottle age even though it will need 12 to 15 to reach its full apogee.
