**Note: from two different parcels, a large one with 45+ year old vines that is only 50 yards from Genevrières and a second, smaller one with 15+ year old vines just above Charmes**
Here again the nose is firmly reduced and impossible to assess. This is almost a hypothetical combination of the Genevrières and the Charmes as the brilliantly well-delineated middle weight flavors possess a wonderfully refined mouth feel along with excellent concentration, all wrapped in a silky and impeccably well-balanced finish where a trace of salinity appears. This is terrific and this too will need all of a decade to display its full, and considerable, potential.
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières has a very delineated bouquet with limestone and granite notes, very reserved but very harmonious. It is clearly beautifully poised, very feminine and succinct with a very precise, spicy finish that lingers long in the mouth. There are no fireworks here, rather an accomplished cerebral Meursault with considerable ageing potential.
