The reduction this displayed last year from barrel is still present even if there is less of it. There is good freshness and energy to the supple and well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the balanced finish where a trace of austerity is present. This possesses outstanding depth and length for its level and while the reduction is a concern my score assumes that it will ultimately dissipate with a few years of bottle age.
Heavy reduction completely dominates the nose at present. By contrast there is good freshness and energy to the supple and well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the balanced finish where a trace of reduction resurfaces. This is never a good sign and my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that a racking will dissipate the reduction.
