Gevrey Chambertin en Champs, Domaine Geantet-Pansiot 2010

Tasting Notes

**Note: from vines planted in 1903**
Over the past few years this has become one of the most consistently excellent villages level wines in all of Burgundy and 2010 will only add to that reputation. The nose is quite similar to that of the old vines Gevrey though here it is perhaps ever-so-slightly more elegant as the fruit slides more to the red side of the fruit spectrum. There is superb concentration and phenolic ripeness to the powerful and strongly mineral-inflected medium-bodied plus flavors that terminate in a driving, fresh and vibrant finish that is focused, linear and gorgeously persistent. Exceptional quality for what this is and highly recommended though note that patience is required.
