Reduction knocks the nose down though again, it seems reasonably clear that the underlying fruit is ripe. The is excellent size, weight and volume to the impressively concentrated large-scaled flavors that also possess plenty of supporting dry extract, all of which is underpinned by notably firm but ripe tannins as well as plenty of that appealing tension that adds lift to the linear and energetic finish. This will also require ample patience. Don't miss!
The 2010 Chambertin-Clos de Beze is still finishing its malo, so it is not easy to read. Today it comes across as rather delicate for Beze, with quite a bit of clarity and precision. Sweet, floral notes are layered into the sumptuous yet delicate finish. This is a hugely promising wine whose best days are well off in the future. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045.
