Tasting Notes

***Note: from a .74 ha parcel of 35+ year old vines***
A combination of oak and natural spice elements add considerable range to the cool red currant, plum and violet infused nose. There is excellent richness and power to the robust and tautly muscular big-bodied flavors that display a very firm minerality yet the supporting tannins are more refined than is typical with this wine. There is outstanding complexity and even in the context of the relatively forward 2011 vintage this is a wine that is clearly built to age. In a word, marvelous.
