Tasting Notes

This is a strong effort from La Pointe, another estate that seems to be producing better and better wines. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2011 reveals a dense ruby/plum/purple color, a sweet perfume of black raspberries, black currants, licorice and subtle high quality oak, medium to full body, and an expansive, broad, pure texture. Drink this sleeper of the vintage over the next decade. 2014 - 2024

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (212), April 2014

A Pomerol with outstanding depth of fruit and structure for the vintage, featuring chocolate, berry and spice character. Full, velvety tannins. Very polished, too. Need another three or four years to come together.

Rich, velvety, very powerful style. Smart, smooth, clean cut, modern. Just enough savoury, liquorice character to make it Bordeaux. Good.
