The Lacoste Borie, a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, has a light, earthy bouquet, rustic round the edge but with a core of crisp black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a terse entry, very tight at the moment with crisp acidity that leads to a pleasant, austere, foursquare finish that should provide early to medium-term drinking. Tasted April 2012.
A wine with pretty blueberry character and hints of dried flowers. Medium body, with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Straightforward.
Fingers crossed that the price of this wine will be as reasonable as it has been in the past, because it's a deliciously drinkable second wine, showing classy cinnamon oak, fine, granular tannins, refreshing cassis and black cherry fruit and a long, textured, satisfying finish. A wine to buy, drink and enjoy. 8+ years.
A light and lively Pauillac with attractive, forward fruit. Drink 2014-2018.
