Another sleeper of the vintage from Angludet, the 2011 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of licorice, spring flowers, black currants and cherries. With medium body, silky tannins, surprising stuffing and succulence, this seductive, lush, well-endowed Angludet can be enjoyed over the next decade.
A blend of 40% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the d'Angludet has a light redcurrant and raspberry nose that has just a touch of greenness. The palate is well balanced with soft tannins and a spicy core of dusty red fruit. It lacks a little finesse on the finish, but it will do. Tasted April 2012.
This shows a light prune and dried-fruit character with spices such as cardamom. Full body, integrated tannins and a crisp finish. Needs three years to come together: better in 2017.
Good natural vineyard concentration of black berry fruit, good richness of flavour, a hint of leather and is robust yet elegant. Has a good future. Drink 2015-2025.
This sleeper of the vintage is a round, hedonistic flesh pot with lots of ripe black currant and black cherry fruit, decent acidity, sweet, velvety tannins and a plump, corpulent mouthfeel. Drink it over the next decade.
A little reductive but some attractive fruit and ripe tannins underneath. Chewy too. Hard to tell completely but yummy
