Tasting Notes

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003

A notable success, the 1999 Malescot St. Exupery continues to offer delicious drinking, bursting with aromas of sweet dark berries, tobacco leaf, loamy soil and cedar box. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and open, with melting tannins and a lively, giving profile, it's in its prime today. Drink 2005-2029

This floral scented, sexy, complex, dark purple coloured 1999 exhibits medium body, tannin, ripe fruit and fine persistence and length. While not a blockbuster heavyweight, it is a beautifully-etched, concentrated, fruit filled effort built around subtlety and depth. The soft tannin and ripe fruit suggest that it will drink well young but evolve easily for 15 or more years.
