Tasting Notes

The 2004 Pinot Noir West Block (400 cases) is one of the most profound Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted... from anywhere. Huge floral, black raspberry, forest floor, cherry liqueur, black currants, and Asian spice aromas soar from the glass of this remarkably intense offering. With a layered, multi-textured, full-bodied palate, profound length, and dazzling purity as well as equilibrium, it is a tour de force in Pinot Noir as well as an exquisite example of just how far California winemakers have progressed in taming this fickle varietal.
