A bright ruby colour with garnet fade at the rim, the 2007 Segla has a wonderfully aromatic bouquet on the nose. Layers of cherry, dried violets and leather are supported by subtle hints of clove and nutmeg. The palate is smooth and supple with fully integrated, very fine and ripe tannins underneath a core of pure cassis and plum fruit. Hints of graphite, violet and earth from bottle age give layers of complexity. This is silky smooth and perfect for drinking right now, with no hard edges and a perfect balance between vibrant black fruits and leathery tertiary notes.
