Tasting Notes

Leroy often seems to get petrol notes in her Corton-Charlemagne and the '07 version has them as well, along with notes of green fruit, floral and menthol plus a background hint of oak that introduces big, rich, serious and intensely mineral-driven big-bodied flavors brimming with dry extract that confers a textured quality to the powerful, lemony and bone dry finish that completely stains the palate. This is certainly a huge wine but there is no loss of detail or balance and it actually seems light on its feet even though it's one of the biggest wines of the vintage. Patience required.
