Hermitage La Chapelle, Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aine 1984

Tasting Notes

A deep garnet core with dark brick rim: noticeable heavy sediment. A light nose of saddle-leather, antique bureau, touch of banana skin and spice box. No vestige of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, harmonious, supple and slightly meaty. Even though it has sharp acidity, this is much better than you would think with a gentle leathery finish with no hard edges. Moderate length. Perfect to drink now. Tasted March 2008.
