Cuvee Blanc Reserve, Lismore Estate Vineyards 2025

Tasting Notes

The 2025 Cuvée Blanc Reserve represents the fourth vintage from vines planted in 2016 that survived the fire three years later. It is 90% Roussanne. Aged for 11 months in 500-litre barrels, this is quite perfumed on the nose with white flowers and a light touch of orange pith. The palate is bright and tensile on the entry with hints of marmalade, cloves and tangerine, lovely texture and acidity, a little waxy with a tang on the saline finish. Excellent. Drinking Window: 2027 – 2044

Now on its fourth vintage, Cuvée Blanc remains as it was on first release. Roussanne supplies the core of the wine here, complemented by 5% each of Chardonnay and Viognier. Sappy, intense and very lightly wooded, it partners aromas of cardamom and honeysuckle with a palate of grapefruit, peach and aromatic spices and a spine of skin tannins. Unique in the Cape. Drink 2027-32
