Bottled in August, Aux Faulques is Alix’s only Côte de Nuits-Villages this year. A brisk ruby colour, with fresh red fruit on the nose, this has energy despite the higher yield – or in fact because of it. Bottled September
A light post-bottling reduction overshadows the fruit but I doubt it will last for long. There is better volume to the succulent, round and plump flavors that are not super-dense but do offer better depth and persistence on the lightly rustic finale. This should also drink well early though 2 to 3 years of keeping should help to add depth. (Drink starting 2028)
