The 2024 Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl is tender and restrained on the nose, showing supple citrus with an edge of lovely, tart pear. The palate is utterly strait-laced, clean-cut, bright, lemony and vivid, not at all like your usual Pinot Gris but much more linear, zestier and straighter. The finish is a wonderfully pure tone of lemon. (Bone-dry). Drink: 2028-2055
The vineyard signature strikes again, layering Gris' natural flesh with floral, fragrant accents. The palate marries delicate petal-like notes with a base of stone fruit and cashew. This is a bright, pure and intense wine that fans out brilliantly on the finish. It is just getting into gear, but with time it will be an absolutely delicious example of its type.
