The whole cluster vinification is evident as the expressive and fresh nose is notably more floral in character with its array of ripe dark berries that is trimmed in enough wood to notice as well as a mentholated top note. The succulent, round and similarly velvet-textured medium weight flavors possess markedly better mid-palate density before terminating in a lightly stony finish that is much more complex and persistent. It is also notably more structured so plan to exercise moderate patience. (Drink starting 2035)
A deep red crimson. There is a heady warmth of largely strawberry fruit on the nose, very appetising. Here the palate has a tarry aspect with quite dry tannins, middleweight plus, 25% whole bunches, all made with a gentle hand and impressive length. Fresher in colour and nose, more precision, with energetic red fruit. A very much more interesting wine than the cheerful village Morey.
