Lifted and perfumed aromas of boysenberries, rose petals, hibiscus and raspberry coulis. The palate is energetic, with nicely framed tannins, bright acidity and a medium-bodied palate. Flavors of red currants, pomegranates and cassis are complemented by a bright and crunchy finish. A blend of 79% grenache and 21% mataro made from 70-year-old vines. Drink now. Screw cap.
Like Henry's Seven, this is paler crimson than expected, though of course Grenache often is. Light raspberry nose followed by really mouth-filling fruit on the palate and then some meaty, ripe tannin. There is lots of sweet fruit to enjoy here, and reassuring structure plus fresh acidity. A real please-all, extremely versatile wine! Drink: 2025-2038
