The 2019 Barolo Briccolina is a classy, powerful wine. A blast of dark cherry, plum, gravel, spice, incense and lavender makes a fine first impression, before big Serralunga tannins make themselves felt. This imposing Barolo will benefit from a few years in bottle. It is a fine effort from the Grasso family. (Drink between 2026-2040)
Fresh, quite piercing nose with a certain hint of almonds. Vigorous, confident. Youthful with a chalky finish. (JR)
