The 2017 Barolo Briccolina is a soft, fruity wine with good balance and plenty of appeal. In 2017, Briccolina is translucent in feel, with firm tannins that are going to need a bit of time to soften. Sweet red berry, orange peel, sage, mint and blood orange lend quite a bit of exoticism, especially in the aromatics, but the 2017 also needs time to fully come together. (Drink between 2025-2037)
Serralunga d'Alba. Youthful, lustrous ruby. Sweet-sour cherry nose with oatmeal hints. Fragrant and elegant palate with marked acidity. Long and juicy with long powdery tannins absorbing the ripe fruit. A pretty wine. (WS)
