Tasting Notes

The 2016 Barolo Briccolina is attractive, but is also a bit light and lacking in its usual resonance. Black cherry, smoke, tobacco, chocolate and licorice overtones give the 2016 a feeling of darkness enshrouded by sinewy Serralunga tannins. It will be interesting to see if the 2016 comes together a bit more fully in bottle; today it is decidedly rough around the edges. (Drink between 2021-2031)
