Super-cool, elegant and airy aromas are wonderfully pure with their essence of various red berries liberally laced with a plethora of floral and spice nuances. The racy, detailed and overtly mineral-driven medium weight flavors deliver very fine length on the firm, serious, youthfully austere and well-balanced finale. Note well though that this is very much built-to-age and a wine that's going to need at least mid-term holding. (Drink starting 2033)
An immense body of purple in colour. Raspberry and intense cherry suggesting a profound wine despite the stricter character of Clos du Roy. There is admirable intensity without any suggestion of over-ripeness, a good background acidity, tension, persistence. The sense of a giant being controlled.
