Chassagne Montrachet Clos St Jean, Paul Pillot 2023

Tasting Notes

The brisk and bright 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru has a more Puligny-like bouquet that stands apart from Pillot's Chassagnes: hints of fresh pear and Granny Smiths blend with petrichor. The palate is fresh, taut and well defined with lovely salinity. Just a hint of lemon and orange rind emerges on the finish, giving way to a spicy aftertaste. Excellent. (Drink between 2026-2044)

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean is one of the more immediate wines in the range, bursting with aromas of pear, apple blossom, nutmeg and vanilla pod, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate, concluding with chalky grip.
