Schiavenza means sharecroppers, as the estate was used for general agriculture before the cantine was established in the 1950s. The estate is now in possession of some of the most best sites in the region, including the much coveted Monvigliero. The wines made here are rich and hedonistic but without being overdone and cloying. High quality.
Serralunga d’Alba. Cask sample. Pale ruby. Cinnamon bark and rich, brooding cherry. Supple and generous cherry and raspberry fruit on the palate and delicious, gravelly tannins. Not the most complex but therefore really hedonistic. Ready now. 2024-2032.
