La Morra produces floral, soft wines that are often more approachable than most other communes. Renato and Stefano Corino took some time to find their way with the wines often showing an oak footprint but today, they couldn’t be more different. These are highly perfumed, elegant and very true to the unique style of the La Morra commune.
The 2021 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata opens with striking inner perfume. Dark-toned fruit, lavender, spice and menthol open with a bit of coaxing. The 2021 should be stellar with a few years in bottle, which is when it will be released. There is a bit more new oak in the Riserva, but it works well in amplifying the inner perfume and sweetness of the Nebbiolo fruit. This is such a gorgeous and complete Barolo.
