Vosne Romanee 1er Cru, Domaine Coquard Loison-Fleurot 2023

Tasting Notes

Mid ruby purple. The nose has the expected finesse without significant extra concentration though afterwards you can see some of that on the palate. Strawberry, alpine strawberry, a little more acidity behind. At the moment, it is the village Vosne which is really singing.

Here too there is enough reduction to suppress the fruit but not the spice nuances. The succulent and slightly richer middle weight flavors also possess a seductive mouthfeel before concluding in a youthfully austere, balanced and focused finale. While this could use better depth, a little patience should be sufficient to address that. (Drink starting 2031)
