This is also markedly floral in character with an equally broad range of spice elements to the softly earthy red and dark berry fruit, exotic tea, rose petal, violet and lavender-suffused aromas. The fleshy yet precise and highly energetic medium weight flavors are more concentrated than those of the Clos de la Roche though I still wouldn't describe them as super-dense, all wrapped in a hugely long, balanced and moderately austere finale. Much like the Clos St. Denis, this is also exceptionally stylish and classy and should age for several decades on the perfect balance. Drink: 2039+
The 2022 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with notes of raspberries, cherries, blood orange, exotic spices, vine smoke and rose petals. Full-bodied, seamless and concentrated, with a deep and multidimensional core, sweet tannins and lively acids, it concludes with a long, mineral finish.
