Saint Aubin Champlots, Jean-Claude Bachelet 2022

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Saint-Aubin Les Champlots 1er Cru has a little more mineralité and stoniness than other cuvées, not powerful, but nicely detailed. The palate is quite rich for a Saint-Aubin, perhaps Chassagne in style, the precocity counterbalanced by acidity with an energetic spicy finish lingering in the mouth. Excellent. (Drink between 2025-2036)

Mid lemon yellow. A touch of oak on the nose, in the buttery style often found here. Very good concentration from the start and all the way across the palate. In the mouth, the fruit and oak are entirely in harmony with a pleasing acidity behind. A great start to the range of St-Aubin 1er Cru.
