Chambertin, Domaine Denis Mortet 2021

Tasting Notes

50% has been made with pedicels, with one new barrel out of two. A glowing purple colour. Sometimes it is hard to find the words because in these great vineyards it is just the sense of nobility which counts. Little baby raspberry and strawberry notes deliver such intensity. The fruit keeps swelling on the palate until it remembers its dignity and then just moves into a graceful seamless texture. When you think it has finished, back comes the fruit again. You don’t notice either tannins (fine) or acidity (fully integrated). Drink from 2030-2040.
