Chablis Les Clos, Jean Paul & Benoît Droin 2019

Tasting Notes

A wonderfully broad nose features notes of oyster shell, white flowers, iodine, yellow orchard fruit and a whiff of quinine. The intense and palate coating larger-scaled flavors exude evident minerality on the focused, very firm and impressively persistent finish. This needs to develop better depth, but the solid acid spine makes clear that this is a wine to put away and forget for at least 5 to 7 years. Note: from a large 1.40 ha parcel of vines; 50% wood, approximately one-third of which was new
