The 2021 Chambolle villages from Domaine Roumier is nicely red fruity in personality this year. The bouquet offers up scents of strawberries, cherries, a touch of cocoa, mustard seed, chalky soil tones, gamebird and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is fullish, bright, and complex, with good focus and grip, lovely balance and a long, soil-driven finish. There is not a ton of depth showing in the mid-palate today, but I assume that is just masked from the recent racking. 2028-2065
