Morey Saint Denis Clos des Ormes, Pascale Marchand / Marchand-Tawse 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos des Ormes 1er Cru, apparently one of Pascal Marchand’s favorite wines, has an elegant, attractive bouquet of blackberry, dark chocolate and crushed stone aromas. The medium-bodied palate offers fine-boned tannin and fine acidity, quite linear and precise, and a persistent finish. This should drink beautifully once in bottle.

Once again the wood influence is admirably discreet on the similar aromas of baked dark berries, spice and warm earth. The sleek, intense and slightly finer medium weight flavors possess a bit better finishing persistence and energy. This relatively refined effort should drink well early on and with a few years of bottle age.
