Taurasi Riserva della Societa', Joaquin 2015

Tasting Notes

Drop-dead gorgeous, the 2015 Taurasi Riserva della Società takes things to another level. A hauntingly dark and floral bouquet mixes plum and cherry sauces with lavender, sage, violets and hints of dark chocolate. This possesses textures of crushed velvet, polished and refined, with a zesty core of acidity grumbling beneath and a wave of ripe red and black fruits swirling throughout. A burst of balsamic spice comes forward through the close as the 2015 finishes incredibly long and primary. A staining of concentration and a web of fine tannins perfectly frame the experience. The balance here is otherworldly. It's produced from pre-phylloxera vines that average somewhere between 150-200 years old. 2026-2038
