Complex aromas of Meyer lemons, lime curd, orange blossoms, phosphorus and yellow apples on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated acidity and a creamy texture, carrying notes of stone fruit supported by hints of puff pastry and mandarin pith. Generous with an underlying tension. Excellent. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
The Block 6 feels crisper than Block 2 this year. Crunchy white pear and white peach, together with a little green melon. The palate is built on this primary fruit base, giving it real presence and a moreish juiciness. I expect as it melows it will only improve, but that bright fruit makes for a very enjoyable drink already.
