Owned by the Quinn family from Ireland with winemaking by Stephen Carrier who has also worked in California and Australia. Less than 2000 cases are made annually of the white wine from 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon and 5% Muscadelle. Ageing in 40% new oak.
A blend of 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Sémillon, the 2022 de Fieuzal Blanc exhibits aromas of spring flowers, lemon oil, al dente pear and peach with flinty hints. Juicy, round and deep, fleshy and fresh with a medium to full-bodied palate, it has a slightly phenolic finish. The aging process should reduce the slight austerity and bring more flesh and substance.
A bright grassy nose, with real lift and tang from grapefruit, spice and smoke. Silky and soft on the palate, there is a lanolin character together with bruised peach and pear.
