A wine that punches above its weight is the 2019 Paveil de Luze, derived from holdings on the deep gravel soils of the plateau of Brane and containing some 80% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries, loamy soil and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and seamless, with refined, powdery tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is well worth seeking out. Drinking Window: 2021 - 2039.
Blackberries, blueberries, dried herbs, cedar and spice box on the nose. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins. Round and sleek with a polished, spicy and flavorful finish. Drink from 2024.
Tasted blind. A perfumed, rather captivating nose. Great balance. Very fluid fruit, though a relatively light tannic charge. Great for relatively early drinking. Very Margaux. 13.5%. Drink 2025 – 2037
