Really clear aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with dried flowers and sandalwood. It’s full-to medium-bodied, yet with very tight, refined tannins that run the length of the finish. Second wine of Lagrange. Very well done. Best after 2024.
The 2019 Fiefs de Lagrange has an attractive nose, a mixture of red and black fruit, tobacco and subtle earthy aromas; the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, not necessarily powerful, though delineated and with an almost citrus-fresh finish. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. Drink 2025-2040
The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange fulfills its promise from barrel. It feels harmonious and engaging on the nose of brambly red fruit, undergrowth and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and quite weighty and mouth-filling for a Deuxième Vin, offering satisfying sapidity on the finish. Very fine.
