An all but invisible application of wood sets off an even more deeply pitched nose that displays a touch of the sauvage along with smoke and humus nuances on the earthy dark berry fruit liqueur-like aromas. There is a relatively refined mouth feel to the sleekly muscular medium weight flavors that possess very fine mid-palate concentration thanks to the abundant dry extract that imparts a textured mouth feel to the very firm finish that is shaped by a prominent tannic spine. This beauty is very clearly built-to-age and indeed it will need plenty of it.
