Graacher Domprobst Kabinett Versteigerung, Weingut Schloss Lieser 2020

Tasting Notes

(Schloss Lieser Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett Auction) AP: 36 21. The 2020er Domprobst Riesling Kabinett, as it is written on the front label, possesses a superbly smoky and finely reductive nose with delicate scents of bacon, earthy spices, and nettle. It then slowly reveals more depth and complexity as notes of candied grapefruit, bergamot, vineyard peach, pear, and spices come through. The wine proves subtle and comparatively on the smooth and juicy side on the palate. This sense of elegance leads to a smooth, almond and pear driven feel in the light-footed finish. This lower feeling of acidity makes it come over as a fine Spätlese rather than a tangy Kabinett, but as such it is a great fruity-styled wine. It needs a decade to fully blossom and integrate its tale of sweetness. 2030-2045+
