Marmajuelo
"Presenting with a slight haze and a golden colour, this has a fantastic nose of blood orange, honeysuckle and baked apples. The palate is rich and oily in texture, but tangy in acid. This makes for a generous yet lip-smacking, moreish profile. There is a hint of struck flint to the profile, complementing the sweet blossom fruit and giving the wine a sense of place. Excellent."

Vijariego Blanco
"A rich golden yellow colour. This has saline profile, ripe in orchard fruits but always matched by savoury spice. The palate has fantastic texture, glossy on entry and complex. Mango, orange and pineapple come through, yet there is real energy and lift to the fruit, with fine, piercing acids and a slight pithy grip. Fleshing out to a broad finish, there is a smokiness that is not from wood, but the volcanic nature of the wine."

Malvasia Volcanica:
"Pale lemon colour. Lime and salt hit immediately on the nose, which has a more Burgundian hint of reduction and cream. This follows, too on the palate, melding the new with the familiar in perfect harmony. Polished but deep, with waves of fine acidity. This is delicious now - but of the three wines in the case presents the strongest case for laying down for 3-5 years to see how it will develop. Long, silky and finely balanced on the finish."
