The 2022 Saint-Véran 1er Jus retains the slightly exotic, passerillé style it revealed during élevage, exhibiting aromas of sweet stone fruits, clear honey and mango mingled with notions of toasted nuts and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it concludes with a long, saline finish. 2025 - 2045
Pale lemon colour in the glass, the nose here is immediate with top notes of white flowers and rose, matched by succulent orchard fruit. The palate has a prominent lime curd note, the fruit and acidity both powerful and blending seamlessly at such a young stage. There is depth here, however, unfurling with air there are notes of baking spices - nutmeg and clove - together with white peach and confit citrus. The is a long, precise and measured wine; it may well warrant a higher score from bottle.
Aromas of green pear, confit orange, almond paste and white peach preface the 2022 Saint-Véran 1er Jus, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine with a textural attack that segues into a taut, electric palate, concluding with a long, saline finish. This is another strong performance this year, lent additional concentration by a touch of passerillage in the warm, dry weather before harvest.
