Vosne Romanée Les Brûlées, Domaine Jean Pierre Guyon 2018

Tasting Notes

Wafting from the glass with aromas of ripe berry fruit, smoked tea, peonies and spices, the 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées is medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, with a sweet but succulent core of fruit, ripe acids and powdery tannins. This is one of the high points of the range.

Deep purple, with burnt stones on the nose, some quite wild aromatics, but really succulent behind and then rather an elegant finish. Talking about the aromatics, Jean-Pierre said that when you make a hole to plant a baby vine, the rock smells like this.
