Deep ruby colour, showing a little fade to garnet at the rim. This has a complex, layered and mature nose of ripe black cherry, blackcurrant, cedar and forest floor with just a hint of sweet spice. The palate is textured and nuanced, with classic Médocain tannins now softened into the wine, supporting the core of pure blackcurrant, black cherry and bramble fruit. Notes of forest floor, leather, and cedar put this wine right in the middle of its drinking window. A perfect balance between ripeness of fruit, tertiary flavours, and softened tannin make this a classic, moreish claret with a long and pure finish. Delicious right now.
Deep ruby with garnet fade at the rim. The nose is ripe with blackcurrant and black forest fruits, with hints of cedar and sweet spice. The palate is ripe and soft, the ripe tannins melding nicely into the body of the wine which exudes blackcurrant, black cherry and a little brambly fruit. Layers of nutmeg and cedar give this polished, glossy wine more complexity. This has shaken off the structure of its youth and now has a juicy core with no hard edges that lingers on the long finish.
