Notes of peaches and pears mingled with toasted nuts and iodine introduce the 2023 Saint-Véran Vigne de Saint-Claude, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy wine with tangy acids and chalky structure. This has once again turned out very nicely. 2024 - 2034
From a small parcel of vines in the village of Prissé, very close to the vines of Pouilly-Fuissé in Vergisson. The vines are around 50 years old and grow on stony soil. Made from free-run juice only and fermented and aged in barrel with 25% new oak.
Zesty, sweet citrus nose. Rich! But a tense finish. Lots to chew on. Needs lots of time but the finish is very long. VGV (JR)
This small parcel of vines is situated in the village of Prissé, very close to the vines of Pouilly-Fuisse in Vergisson. The vines are around 50 years old and grown on a stony soil. Made from free-run juice only and fermentated and aged in barrel with 25% new oak. Bright lemon in colour, this is chock full of ripe peaches and pears on the nose, with a light touch of wood spice. The palate has impressive flesh in fruit but is balanced by a chalky grip and lithe, refreshing acidity. Bright, refreshing and tangy on the finish.
