Brimming with white pepper, star fruit and red gooseberry with just a hint of mango. Compact and concentrated for a village wine, this makes a serious statement on the palate in spite of having just 13% alcohol. Bold, long finish with plenty of spice and stony minerality. Partly from young vines in the terraced top sites of Durnstein plus some parcels of mature vines on the plain. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Sourced from the terraces, the 2022 Dürnsteiner Grüner Veltliner is very clear, fresh and precise on the intensely fruity nose that intermingles ripe seed fruit aromas with lime and stony/iodine notes. Round and intense yet also refreshingly saline and savory on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied and intense yet vivacious Veltliner with fine bitters on the intense, well-balanced finish. 13% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in April 2024. Drink 2025-2040.
