A rather smoky red on the nose with earthy, shiitake mushroom, lead pencil, dark cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied and layered with lots of cloves and black pepper. Only the second bottling here. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Screw cap.
The 2022 MacMuir Pinot Noir is here in its second vintage, a new wine in the lineup for Felton Road. On the nose, this is saturated in red fruit flavor, with pomegranate molasses, white and pink peppercorns, violets and sandalwood. There's a lovely flow to this wine; it has loads of flavor, but it is svelte, polished and gentle all the way. A sleek finish rounds it out. I like it very much. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
Deep colour, aromatics and flavour. Richly fragrant and quite bold (relative to the elegant Felton Road context) with the classic Bannockburn velvety mid-palate texture. Brimming with cherries, violets and spicy Campari notes. Concentrated and complex with a long, finely tuned finish. Lots of charm and presence. B Corp certified and biodynamic. Drink 2024-2032.
Lovely intense aromatics; morello cherry, plum, violets. Some dried thyme and sage. Tannins right there from the start, powdery and finely grained, contributing a bitter dark chocolate note. There is plenty of concentration underlying but this wine needs time to unfurl. Structured. Drink from 2027-2032.
