Reduction flattens the nose and renders a proper evaluation impossible. There is excellent phenolic maturity to the very round, even velvety big-bodied flavors that possess a seductive texture before terminating in a powerful and mouth coating finish that is a bit less overtly austere than usual. In fact this is a relatively refined Corton though it is important to underscore that it does not come close to matching the refinement of the Combe d'Orveau.
