Tremblay indicated that she used 30% whole clusters with this wine in 2010. A beautifully spicy and intensely floral nose of complex red pinot fruit liqueur aromas leads to rich, delicious and tautly muscled flavors that possess excellent volume. There is really impressive depth and length to the suave finish and while this is less refined than any of the 1ers, it's bigger, longer, firmer and more powerful.
The 2010 Echezeaux du-Dessus is a totally seamless wine. Dark red berries, crushed flowers and spices are some of the notes that are woven together on a fabric of nearly indescribable elegance. The Echezeaux doesn’t quite have the delineation or energy of the Chapelle, but it more than makes up for that with its superb integrity and the sheer luxuriousness of its fruit. This is yet another dazzling effort from Cecile Tremblay. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.
