The Non-Vintage Pelorus has an attractive, creamy, well-defined bouquet with white flowers and light patisserie scents that emerge with time. The harmonious palate is well balanced with crisp acidity and hints of citrus lemon, orange zest and apricot towards the pretty finish. Just delicious.
The NV Pelorus Sparkling Wine is a 60-40 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that goes through full malolactic fermentation and spends 24 months on the lees. A quarter is made of reserve wines, which give additional depth and complexity to the wine's fine aromas of toasted brioche and nuts. There's a sense of custardy richness on the palate, balanced by citrus notes on the long finish.
75% 2013 vintage. 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir.
Pale gold with a lively bead. Bready nose, with brioche, cream and old cream. Some stone fruit and ripe citrus. Chalky, lemon and stone-fruit flavour with nutty, bready lees. Prickly mousse. Long-ish.
